Ayurveda explains an individual bundle of `spirit’ (desirous of expressing itself) utilizes Satwa (subjective consciousness) to manifest sense organs and a mind. Spirit and mind then combined together into a physical body. The five great eternal elements create the physical body. And these elements are Panchamahabhutas (Pancha = five; maha = great; bhutas =elements), which form from Tamas. The sense organs then use Rajas to project from the body into the external world to experience their objects. The body becomes the mind’s vehicle, its physical instrument for sense gratification.

Tridoshas (bioenergetic) govern and determine our health or physical condition. It is the combination of The Bhutas. Our mental and spiritual health depends on the three Gunas (Rajas or activity, Tamas or inertia and Satwa balancing the first two).  As a conclusion, Ayurveda a holistic system of health care teaching us to balance these energies in order to attain optimal health and happiness.
